Our Mission

Why we exist: MFASSI exists to bridge the educational gap for underprivileged children by providing financial aid, learning resources, and mentorship, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed regardless of their background.

Our Vision

Long-term impact (5-10 years): We envision a future where educational inequality is eliminated in our community. Within the next decade, we aim to establish a permanent community learning center and expand our scholarship reach to over 1,000 students annually.

"Education is not just a path to a career; it is the foundation of a dignified life."

With over 25 years of experience in education and community service, Cheryl Lockett has seen firsthand the transformative power of support. Her journey began as a local teacher, where she witnessed students struggling not because of a lack of talent, but a lack of resources.

Under her leadership, MFASSI has grown from a small local initiative into a structured non-profit that addresses the root causes of educational barriers. Her experience in curriculum development and community organizing has been instrumental in creating programs that are both impactful and sustainable.

"My goal is to ensure that no child in our community ever feels that their dreams are out of reach because of their financial situation. We are here to be the wind beneath their wings."

Our Strategic Goals (2026-2029)

SMART Goal 1

Increase the number of full-tuition scholarships by 25% annually over the next three years, reaching at least 200 students by 2029.

SMART Goal 2

Establish a mobile learning lab by the end of 2027 to provide digital literacy training to 500+ children in rural areas of Georgia.

SMART Goal 3

Partner with 10 local businesses by 2028 to create a sustainable internship and mentorship pipeline for our high school graduates.
